Fourth Antiracist Festival in Salonica

On the 29th and 30th of September, 2001, RAINBOW participated in the "Fourth Antiracist Festival" held in Salonica. The event was organized by the non-governmental organization known as the "Antiracist Initiative of Salonica." The festival took place on the grounds of the department of philosophy at the University of Salonica.

RAINBOW had its own booth at this event, which contained written materials (books, declarations, etc.,) through which it informed both participants and visitors of its bylaws and principles in relation to the Macedonian minority in Greece.

On the second day of the festival RAINBOW, in cooperation with representatives of the Turkish minority in Greece, organized within the framework of the festival an open forum under the topic "the Macedonian and Turkish minorities in Greece."

These discussions generated a great deal of interest among a large number of visitors including representatives of other NGOs and professors from the University.

Within the framework of these discussions RAINBOW put forward the point that respecting the rights of national minorities in Greece is the key to the further democratization of Greek society.
