Greek extremists protest against a meeting to be held the following week by an ethnic Macedonian political party in the town of Edessa (Voden). Their intention (which proved successful) was to intimidate members of this group and prevent the meeting from taking place.The Banner proclaims that "Macedonia is Greece" and aims to deny the distinct ethno-national identity of Greece's Macedonian minority.
