RE: A reaction to the draft framework to resolve the dispute between Republic of Macedonia and Republic of Greece by Matthew Nimitz.
The United Nations with the irrational proposal of their mediator Matthew Nimitz for Macedonia to accept a name different from the constitutional name tramples on and is in breach of their own principles which are at the basis of the UN Charter.
Because of this we call on the General Secretary of UN to start proceedings to determine responsibility on behalf of the mediator Matthew Nimitz.
MASSO believes that there is no principle on the basis of which any international organization or country can ask of the citizens of another country to denounce their basic right to identify themselves and choose for themselves.
This is why we call on all countries, NGOs and international organizations to raise their voice in defense of the principle which unites us all and which secures a humane coexistence for all people in the world – the principle of respecting and practicing human rights.
We, the LGBT community from around the world, daily taste the bitterness when those who are more numerous and bigger use force against the rule of law, when they ask of you to change your own identification, when they ask of you to denounce what you feel to be the true you.
This is why we would like to call on all LGBT organizations in the world to protest this absurd proposal, for the citizens of one country to give up their name, identity, existence and to send protest letters to the United Nations, to the mediator Matthew Nimitz, to the Government of the Republic of Greece and to all other relevant international institutions.
Cordially,
