The Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece: Greek antisemite acquitted on Appeal

 On March 27, 2009, the Five-membered Appeals Court of Athens, a second higher level court, found Kostas Plevris, the well known Greek anti-Semite and Holocaust denier, not guilty of “incitement to racial hatred and violence against the Jews” through his 1.400 page racist book “Jews – The whole truth”.
The Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece expresses its disappointment and amazement at the decision of the Athens Court of Appeals in acquitting the modern-day supporter of Nazism in Greece, K. Plevris, against whom an ex-officio prosecution was brought on the basis of anti-racist Law 927/79.
The original trial, at first instance, in December 2007, had resulted into the conviction of K. Plevris to 14 months of imprisonment on probation for three years.
This decision of the Appeals Court saddens, perplexes and causes concern among citizens of a modern democratic society as a self-confessed promoter of Nazism and racism remains unpunished though he not only distorts proven historical evidence, but even worse, uses his pen to incite hatred and provoke discrimination and violence against citizens of Greece and Europe. (We stress out that during the Appeal trial, K. Plevris “threatened” with “what would happen if Hitler was to rise from his grave” !). Greek Jews never cease to stand by the forces of civilized humanity in the endless battle against racism and anti-Semitism, fascism and Nazism, in Greek society and society worldwide.
Anti-semitic excerpts from the book:
In his book “Jews – The whole truth”, (published in 2006), Kostas Plevris himself writes, (page 600) “I declare from the outset that I am a Nazi and a fascist, racist, anti-democratic and am an anti-Semite”. The book is full of anti-Semitic opinions that reach the point of blatant abuse (e.g. in analysing the opinions of others he concludes, “That’s the only thing Jews understand: an execution squad within 24 hours,” page 742). In the book in question, Mr Plevris openly calls the Holocaust into question while justifying Nazism, given that in his opinion, “Ridding Europe of the Jews is necessary because Judaism poses a threat to the freedom of Nations” (page 432). And to this he adds, “I constantly blame the German Nazis for not ridding our Europe of Jewish Zionism when it was in their power to do so,” (page 1,221).
Other anti-semitic references: “And now the time has come for us to call the Jew by the name he deserves…… He is the sub-human Jew!” (page 266).
“It is the fault of the civilized world that tolerates the international parasites that are called Jews… the time for retaliation has come…” (pages 138-139).
“My book, which you are now reading, is simple proof that we are not afraid of the Jews. We scorn them for their morality, their religion, and their acts, which together prove that they are sub-human” (page 583).
“Mark my words. This time there will be no kind German Nazis to gather up the Jews and send them to Madagascar, but Knights of the White Apocalypse. I imagine them galloping, swords unsheathed, on golden steeds of death” (page 872).
“Free yourselves from Jewish propaganda that deceives you with falsehoods about concentration camps, gas chambers, ‘ovens’ and other fairy tales about the pseudo-holocaust…” (page 270).
